CapEdge: Your Stock DashboardI've used CapEdge in the past to screen for ideas but never realized how powerful this site is. Too many stock websites have multiple news feeds but not much clarity. It's easy to get distracted if you don't have focus as an investor. CapEdge solves this problem with a clean dashboard. Best of all, CapEdge is free. In the past, I've tried different RSS feeds, investment sites and beyond. You know the usual suspects like Seeking Alpha, CNBC, Bloomberg and whatever brokerage app you have. The biggest challenge with public stocks is market news + SEC filings. Combined with social networks, the information is everywhere. Mostly noise, no signal. The Stock FeedLast month, I started using CapEdge more because of their alert feed. Personally I'd like Google Alerts to have this feature but CapEdge does it better. They pull relevant stock data from subreddits. I haven't seen anyone else do this well. Stock filingsThey also provide links to the latest SEC filings. Proxies and more. I used to spend so much time searching the SEC Edgar site for this data. CapEdge displays relevant links in a cleaner format. SEC Edgar has too much noise in comparison. Adding the earnings call transcript is a nice touch as well. Compare filingsOne cool feature I noticed was they track the changes between filings. It's a simple feature but they display the content wonderfully. It's very easy to read. The best part is that CapEdge is not some fancy web app tool. There are no cool, edgy graphics. No complicated command interfaces. I pull the data I need, for free. I recommend checking it out. |

When I started on Wall Street, I remembered every investor had the HP 12C Financial Calculator on their desk. It was a powerful, handheld device. Of course, when investing there are only a few important variables worth noting: present value, payments, interest rates and future value. When you sit on a trading floor, accuracy of these 3-4 variables are essential when investing....
Here are a few Nasdaq updates I’ve observed in software this year. Earlier in 2024, I was initially focused on cybersecurity threats in financial services. ISMG has several great events and roundtables if you want to learn more about the industry. It’s the best way to learn the latest security threats and how executives are handling them. But since June, I’ve had to focus more on A.I. technologies since the applications have ramped up. Personally I don’t have time to master the hardware and...
How to Invest in Fintech for 2025 With the new year, it’s time to reposition your portfolio for growth. For the past two years, Fintech has been dead. But now with the Trump Administration, two things will happen in 2025: 1) IPO activity will pick up, and 2) deregulation will make fintech very attractive. To get started, here are a few recent posts I published this month: The State of Fintech: I wrote a short breakdown on the industry, some threats and opportunities. My Thoughts on the...
